On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, Barbara (Shaw) Voyer, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at home at the age of 68 surrounded by family.
Barbara was born in Taunton, MA to Robert and Patricia (Hochberg) Shaw. She graduated from the nursing program at CCRI in 1981, and dedicated 43 years of her life caring for others at Rhode Island Hospital. She was married to Serge Voyer, Sr. on July 3, 1983.
Barbara was an excellent cook, hosting get-togethers offering enough food to feed a small army. Her caring nature she displayed as a nurse was multiplied a thousand fold when it came to her family. Barbara was always there with a listening ear, sound advice, a smile, and a hand to hold or to wipe away tears. Her infectious smile would light up the room and you never knew what to expect with her whimsical sense of humor, either way you couldn’t help but smile when she was near. She was kindhearted and a rock for her family, her absence will be deeply missed by many.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Robert, her mother, Patricia, and her brother, Fredrick. She is survived by her husband Serge Voyer Sr., of Warwick, her four children, Richard Belham and his wife Tamara, Christa Belham and her partner Debra, Serge Voyer Jr., and Kayla Voyer, her brothers Robert Shaw and Irving Shaw, and her sisters Diana Brissette, Mary Labrie, and Linda Perry, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private.
